in September of 1892 the Wright Brothers took a bicycle trip from Dayton to Centerville, to Miamisburg and back to Dayton in 3 hours and 20 minutes. they road to the Indian Mound. at that time, they owned a bicycle repair and sales shop. they had not begun making their own brand of bicycles yet. gliders and airplanes were 5 years away. Wilbur took some detailed notes. amazing since the roads were packed mud and gravel, and they only had one gear. when they did begin making bicycles, they were known for their wheel hub, since dirt damage to bearings was a big deal. later they used bicycles for some early airfoil testing. I need a hat like that!
Wilbur was 25 yrs when they made this bicycle ride. 11 yrs later he (brothers) will have successfully invented and demonstrated 3-axis airplane control. 8 yrs later he will be dead from typhoid fever.

I decided to take a short trip on a similar "segment" of their route and probably crossed their path several times. the water along the trail has been turned ON. I tip my hat to the Wright Brothers for a beautiful day of flying and riding.
