a really nice weekend in and around Lanesboro Minnesota. I marked off a bike ride bucket list item. the root river valley is definitely a top ten bike trail system in the US. just beautiful. a very good trip. too many photos. I even won a $100 from flip cards I had a gal check for me because I never win anything. I spent that money+ and silently paid a local young family's dinner at Junipers. if you go to Junipers during regular summer season, get a reservation, as it is the place to be with a renowned chef from Minneapolis. no photos of Junipers as I forgot my camera. I was home in 2:30 with a tailwind. I highly recommend the Root River Trail as it was probably the best bike ride and trip I have ever done.
the aurora borealis was amazing. much better than the cell phone camera shows. feet inside the tent, just laying back and watching natures light show, totally free!
I covered 100 miles in a couple days on this bikepacking trip.
the Zizzo was perfect except I had to stop at the bicycle shop and have them pull out my headphone wires and jack that I dropped were wrapped around the rear gear cassette.
60 hours on this hot oil, looks OK.
