I ordered a rear liberte rim and realized quickly that the rim width is very much different than the single wall. Is it correct for Liberte high pressure rim to be 13-14mm width or did I just get a dud? Is this enough to support a marathon plus 35-406?

Chart is inner width and from a reference for ideal conditions. I am running 1.35" (35mm) on the Liberte 13C double walls and it is working out fine for what I do. The farther you go out the more lightbulb shaped you make your tire profile which has potential to create some issues. If interested in going wider, you may want to consider trying a set of single wall Campo rims. Campo rims are 16-17mm wide on the inside dimension with ~20mm exterior dimension and shipped with 1.95" (47mm) tires.
Thanks for the quick reply - the rows seem to make sense - 38-406 being the factory Xlr8 tire. Can you please clarify which column ties to the Liberte rim?
Hello cushmanforsale and thank you for your post! The measurements are correct ;-) The inner width is ~13mm and the outer width is about ~20mm. Now, about compatibility: While we cannot say whether a third party tire will work or not, I can say that as a "general industry rule", the tire "should" work without issue on the Liberte rim.
I am including a fit chart for rim width vs tire width. As you can see from the chart, the tire should be ok with the rim. Please let us know if you have any other questions! Tony
