Looking at the stock set up this doesn't look as straightforward as I've done in the past. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello MartyDepending on the model bike you have, changing the chainring can be as simple as (literally) changing the the chainring (on the Liberte, Urbano and 2023 Forte) or you will have to change the crank arm/chainring combo (for the Via, Campo or Ferro models). Please let us know if you have any questions.Tony

I have an older (2020?) Forte with the 6 "arms" between chainring and crank. It looks of one piece with crank.
